Pruning:

Our initial evaluation of your property carefully considers safety, health/maintenance issues and aesthetics. We make decisions using visual tree risk assessment, knowledge of insect and disease activity, the age and species of your plants and, of course, aesthetics. We base these decisions on the client's wants and needs, the cultural requirements of the plant species being considered and the value associated with these improvements. We provide clearly, stated written goals which are integral parts of an informed mutual decision-making process. Expert pruning of your trees and shrubs is one of the best ways to increase the value of your property.

Plant Health Care

Plant Health Care is a comprehensive approach to the overall health and beauty of your landscape. This customized service utilizes monitoring visits to inspect your trees and shrubs and their growing conditions.  During these visits a  multitude of procedures may be performed or recommended: spraying for targeted insect and disease management; root zone management including soil testing, fertilizing, amendments and excavations; cultural practices; measuring irrigation levels and small pruning for insect and disease management.

Removals

Our arborists are trained in the latest techniques and tools available for removing your trees safely and efficiently. We specialize in "low-impact" removals. Your property is always left in good condition. Stump grinding services are available.

Fertilizing

The following are critical when making fertilizing decisions for your trees and shrubs: client goals, cultural requirements of the plant species, soil type, environmental conditions and impact on the environment. After careful consideration, we choose a prescribed product or combination of products to satisfy the specific situation. The result is healthy, beautiful plants that
are better able to thrive in the urban landscape.

Targeted Insect Disease

The targeted program is a simpler, more specific and often less expensive approach to plant health. We assure good timing with the use of pheremone trapping, insect appearance models and a smaller, more exclusive customer base. We also specialize in fruit tree pest management. You pay only for the visits needed to keep your trees and shrubs in good health. Our
service is customized to you and your plants' particular needs.

Planting

The number one rule for planting is putting the right tree in the right place. As Certified Arborists, we know plants' growth habits. We can help you choose not only the plants you love but also ones that will thrive in that spot. We have a great relationship with the local nurseries and can find most any species suitable for the area.

Landscape Design and Construction

If plants are to be the main focus in your new landscape, then who better to help you plan for the future life of your green growing things then a certified Arborist. An Arborist is trained to know what plant will thrive in what place, now and in the future. A miss-placed tree can be a headache for many years and a badly planted tree may not even live to its full life expectancy or grow to its full potential. Northwest Plant Health Care employs enough certified Arborists to ensure a proper planting and an informed idea of where your plants should be placed. We have landscape designers on staff who are also certified Arborists, they will take into account the cultural needs of the plants chosen and your needs as the customer.

Tree Risk Assessment

Northwest Plant Health Care is always striving to be on the cutting edge of the tree care industry. Our newest service is tree risk assessment and it can help to give you peace of mind about the large trees on your property. We have certified tree risk assessors on staff that can thoroughly inspect your trees for defects or potential failure. Sometimes removal is the best option and often pruning or other mitigation is necessary to provide you with the safest trees possible.
